SPRING GARDEN TWP.-- Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) will be observed at 3 p.m. April 15 in the sanctuary at Temple Beth Israel, 2090 Hollywood Drive, Spring Garden Township.

This free public program is offered to memorialize victims of the Holocaust and to remind everyone of what can happen to civilized people when bigotry, racism, hatred and indifference take the place of humanity.

Journalist Laurel Leff, author of "Buried by The Times: The Holocaust and America's Most Important Newspaper" will offer an in-depth look at how the New York Times failed in its coverage of the fate of European Jews from 1939 to 1945.

The program will include a memorial service and a candle lighting ceremony.
