EAST MANCHESTER TWP.-- Visit the gardens of John C. Rudy County Park from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 11.
There are annuals, perennials, herbs, natives, cultivars, container gardens, water gardens and a garden of grasses, as well as a raised bed to demonstrate an adaptive approach for those with limited mobility.
See a variety of fruits including apples, grapes, blueberries, blackberries and strawberries and vegetable gardens that yield more than 6,000 pounds of produce, which is donated to food banks each year.
Visitors also can enjoy a discussion about tomatoes, taste some varieties and purchase fresh-picked produce to take home.
The event will also include talks and demonstrations on composting, herbs, insects, native grasses, growing tomatoes and many exhibits.
