YORK SUBURBAN- Freshman Lily Corsaro (York Suburban) has had a solid first season with the New York University women's cross country team.

She finished 18th (third best for the Violets) in the University Athletic Association Championship with a 6k time of 22:57.6 and really came up big in the Met Championships and the Oberlin Regional Rumble finishing 31st at the Met and 14th at Oberlin.

She was the fourth non-Division I runner to cross the line at the Met, following three of her teammates.

"Lily has really stepped in and stepped up this cross country season," Coach Nick McDonough said. "Lily has a bright future and should be a force on our team the next four years."

Corsaro and the Violets will be competing in the NCAA Division III East Regionals Saturday in Rochester.
