Police arrested 25 people during a DUI checkpoint held Halloween night in West Manchester Township.

Eleven impaired drivers were arrested at the checkpoint, including one driver who smoked marijuana just prior to being stopped and another driver who snorted crushed prescription medication, according to state police in Loganville.

One man was arrested for driving under DUI suspension with alcohol in his system, one for driving under suspension, four for driving without a license, two for underage drinking, one vehicle inspection violation, one possession of drug paraphernalia, three for possession of a small amount of marijuana and one criminal bench warrant.

As a result of the checkpoint, numerous impaired drivers were taken off the road, which potentially saved countless lives, police said.

State police and the York County DUI Task Force were assisted by West Manchester, Northern York County Regional, West York and Spring Garden police departments. The Lincolnway, Shiloh and Nashville fire companies, MADD, the PA DUI Association and the York County Sheriff's Department also assisted.
