A 19-year-old man was killed Thursday evening in a one-vehicle crash in Reading Township, according to state police at Gettysburg.

Taylor Zimmerman, of East Berlin, was driving north in a 2000 Pontiac Gran Prix on Stoney Point Road north of East Berlin when the accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m., police said.

Zimmerman lost control at a curve near Bakers Watering Trough Road. The vehicle then crossed sideways into the southbound land and traveled about 100 feet before returning to the northbound lane. The vehicle, still moving sideways, hit a tree on the east side of the road, police said.

Zimmerman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Adams County coroner Pat Felix, police said.
