SCRANTON, Pa.—Officials in northeastern Pennsylvania say emergency units have been dispatched to the scene of a reported crash of a small plane near an airport.

State police say the crash was reported near Spring Hill Airport in Wayne County at about 10:35 p.m. Wednesday.

Emergency dispatchers said fire and emergency medical units were sent to the scene.

Cpl. Robert Robbins of the police barracks in Honesdale told The (Scranton) Times-Tribune that the crash occurred near the south end of the airport's runway.

There was no immediate information about whether anyone was injured.

Police said the Federal Aviation Administration has been notified. FAA officials did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
