Southern Regional Police is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday at a Shrewsbury restaurant, according to a news release.

Police said witnesses told them that at 8:30 p.m., a man walked into the Subway, 18 Constitution Ave., and demanded money at gunpoint.

The man was described as a slim, white male, approximately 6-feet-tall, wearing suede colored sweater and a white mask. Following the robbery, witnesses reported seeing a pickup truck and a silver Jeep leave the area at a high rate of speed, police said.
