STEWARTSTOWN- As a waterline replacement project nears an end, Stewartstown Borough officials are concerned about how road cuts will be repaired.

Work on Winters Avenue, Mill Street and High Street will be completed any day now, but time is running out for paving the street, the borough council said.

Mill Street has so many road cuts from the waterline work and a previous sewer line project that it is now in poor condition, council President Gordon Wisnom said. Council members supported his view that the contractor, Fitz & Smith, must do more than just pave over a few cross cuts.

The council directed engineer Dennis Sarpen to confer with the borough authority and the contractor and work out an agreement on extending the paving.
