The pleas entered Thursday in Lancaster County Court mean that Jose Ricardo Colon and Holly Steffy acknowledge prosecutors have enough evidence to convict them.
Authorities say Steffy's daughter, 4-month-old Sanayah Colon, died in October 2009 after sustaining multiple injuries, including rib fractures and two broken arms. She also was very thin.
However, investigators could not tie her death to a specific event. So authorities charged Steffy and Colon with endangerment for allegedly ignoring the baby's need for food and medical attention.
The Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era reports ( http://bit.ly/UoDQry) the pair will be sentenced March 1.
