Penn State Extension - Keep York County Beautiful Program will be providing educational seminars to help municipalities, school districts, community organizations and individuals interested in participating in the 2013 Great American Cleanup of Pa. This one hour program will discuss how to organize volunteers, what resources are provided and other opportunities available as beautification projects. Topics will also include safety, arranging free waste disposal and what must be recycled. The program will be offered 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Penn State Extension - York County, 112 Pleasant Acres Road, York. To register for this program, contact Tom Smith by email at TLS35@psu.edu or call 717-840-2375. The 2013 Great American Cleanup of Pa. will begin on March 1, and end on May 31. During this period, registered events can get free trash bags, gloves, and safety vests from PennDOT district offices. Events consist of litter cleanups, illegal dump cleanups, beautification projects, special collections, and educational events. Events must be registered through the Great American Cleanup of Pa. website, www.gacofpa.org, to get these free cleanup supplies.
