SCRANTON, Pa.—A 7-year-old girl has died in a northeastern Pennsylvania house fire.

The Lehigh County coroner's office says Trista Bruch died of smoke inhalation. She was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown Thursday afternoon.

The Times-Tribune of Scranton reports http://bit.ly/15yFkBT that her mother, Brenda Bruch, is in critical condition. Trista's 14-year-old brother, Brandon Bruch, is in stable.

Next-door neighbor David Luptak says Brandon ran to his house, just after midnight and told him about the fire.

Luptak says he kicked open the back door and fought through heavy black smoke to pull the girl and her mother from the home, in Jefferson Township east of Scranton.

Firefighters battled the blaze for hours. The home was destroyed.
