Apr 3, 2007 — A month-long investigation into alleged mid- and upper-level street dealers in York resulted in the arrests of 12 people and the confiscation of nearly $59,000 in cocaine and heroin.

In the drug sweep, called Operation Smackdown, police confiscated $11,442 in cash, five vehicles, three guns, 581 grams of cocaine with a street value of $58,100 and 13 bags of heroin with a street value of $260.

Operation Smackdown was a joint investigation by Pennsylvania State Police, the York County Drug Task Force, the York City Narcotics Unit, the U.S. Marshal Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

There were 11 adults and one juvenile arrested in the sweep between March 26 and 31, including:

Kenneth Jones, 19, of the 500 block of South Queen Street, was arrested in the area of the 500 block of South Queen Street. He is charged with delivery of cocaine.

Jennifer Reisinger, 24, and Troy Singleton, 25, of the first block of Church Hill Drive, West Manchester Township, were arrested in the 300 block of Roosevelt Avenue. They are charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

Matthew Bell, 46, of the 300 block of East Philadelphia Street, was arrested in the 300 block of East Philadelphia Street. He is charged with delivery of prescription drugs.

Celia Rojas, 20, of the 500 block of West Philadelphia Street, was arrested in the 500 block of West Philadelphia Street. She is charged with of delivery of heroin.

William Wright, 28, of the first block of West South Street, and Dewayne Brown, 26, of the 300 block of East King Street, were arrested in the 400 block of East Philadelphia Street. They are charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

A male juvenile was arrested in the area of North Penn and Park streets. He is charged with one count of delivery of cocaine and possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

Todd Calhoun, 21, of the 100 block of West Jackson Street, was arrested in the 700 block of South Queen Street. He is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, receiving stolen property and a firearms violation.

Angel Mendez-Castro, 19, of the 900 block of West King Street, was arrested inside a home in the first block of North Newberry Street. He is charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin.

Kendrix Hill III, 22, of the 300 block of East College Avenue, was arrested in the area of Lincoln and Thomas streets. He is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

Josiah Poindexter, 25, of the 200 block of West Maple Street, was arrested in the 200 block of West Maple Street. He is charged with possession with the intent to deliver cocaine and a firearms violation.
