York, PA -- York Town Craft Guild will hold the following workshops and classes at 639 N. Franklin St., Spring Garden Township:

  • Stamp, Paddle and Roll - Exploring Texture and Clay with Nancy Gallagher - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Mondays, May 13, 20, June 3, 10, 17 and 24 (No class scheduled on Memorial Day). Cost is $210. Clay fee is $15 paid to the instructor. The workshop is for all levels of experience and students may choose to make wheel thrown pots, or hand built pots.

  • Date Night with Glassblowing with Michael Peluso - 6 to 8 p.m., April 5, 26, May 17, 31, June 7, and 28. Cost is $120 per couple and $80 material fee paid to instructor. Individuals will learn the basics of glass blowing. No prior experience required.

  • Marble Madness with Michael Peluso - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays, April 6, 10, 24, May 8, 22, and June 8. Cost is $100 and $60 material fee paid to instructor. This class is for those wanting to try glass making with marbles being the focus. No prior experience required.

  • Two Day Intensive Glassblowing Class with Michael Peluso - 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 16 and 18, May 14 and 16, and June 11 and 13. Cost is $200 and $150 material fee paid to instructor. The class is a beginners class. No prior experience required.

  • Angel Carving Workshop with Dave Sipe - 1 to 3 p.m. May 18 and 25. Cost is $15. Participants will carve at least two angels.

  • Introduction to Glass Beadmaking with Les Lind - 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 5. Cost is $150 for nonmember and $135 for member, plus $10 material fee paid to instructor. The workshop will introduce participants to working with glass, show how to create a basic round bead and surface decoration. Learn about studio safety, types of glass, annealing, equipment, and basic beadmaking techniques, using Moretti Italian glass and an oxygen/propane torch.

  • Scherenschnitte with Joli Miller - 1 to 4 p.m., May 4; 6 to 9 p.m. June 4; 1 to 4 p.m. July 10; 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 14; 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 3; 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 12; and 9 a.m. to noon, Nov. 2. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers plus $5 each workshop for materials fee paid to instructor. Participants will learn the techniques of paper cutting to cut out a design or pattern. Bring your own scissors; a few pairs will be available for class. The scissors need to be small, like manicure scissors, with short and pointy tips. Bring an Exacto knife with a No. 11.

  • The Yorktown Beaders - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. second Thursday of each month. Anyone interested in beading is welcome to attend. Participants can work on their own projects or take part in a group project. For details or to attend, call Pam Leas at 747-1649 or email pleas-designs@comcast.net.

    York Town Craft Guild will hold its 18th annual 2013 Christmas at the Guild noon to 7 p.m. Nov. 7 and 8 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 at 639 N. Franklin St., Spring Garden Township. The event includes juried original designer crafts, "Made in America" by local artisans, Christmas Shoppe, raffle prizes, York Art Association Gallery Group and attic treasures.
