The Southern York County Business Association will be hosting the SYCBA Fit for a Cause - Walk/Run/Ride the line event to support four non-profit organizations Sept. 14, at the New Freedom Rail Trail. Participants have the opportunity to walk, run, or bike the Rail Trail beginning at 10 a.m. Community members are encouraged to register early by visiting www.sycba.com. Proceeds from the $25 registration fee will benefit the YMCA, H.O.P.E, the American Cancer Society, and Penn-Mar Human Services. The top fundraising individual will receive a free one week stay at a five bedroom beach house in Myrtle Beach. SYCBA Fit for a Cause is an annual fundraiser sponsored by the Southern York County Business Association. The event begins and ends at the New Freedom Rail Station. Each year the Business Association selects local non-profits to be the beneficiaries of the event. In 2012 the event raised over $6,000 for the local cancer organization H.O.P.E. The 2013 event will be held in memory of Arlene Rinehart, the top fundraising individual in 2012 who lost her battle to cancer shortly after the event.
