The Red Lion Area Historical Society is filled with plans for the Ma & Pa Train Station Museum on North Main Street.
The latest project is the replacement of the rails beside the museum. With the help of Red Lion Borough, the society is working on drainage problems at the site in preparation to install new rails. Once the rails are in place, the society will complete the restoration of a caboose, now in storage, and locate it on the tracks beside the museum.
What an added attraction this will be to the museum as well as a terrific head point for the Red Lion Mile, the hiking/biking trail that follows the old Ma & Pa rail bed.
Historical society seeks items
The Stewartstown Historical Society is looking for items to expand its collection and preserve the history of the area.
Items such as pictures, postcards, films, letters, business records, deeds, newspapers, annual reports, political ads, family trees, family stories or any other type of historical document will gladly be accepted. The society prefers donations of original documents but will scan or copy items if necessary and return the original.
The areas covered by the Stewartstown Historical Society include the boroughs of Fawn Grove, New Park, Winterstown, Stewartstown, and the townships of Hopewell, East Hopewell and North Hopewell.

Cookie Project kudos
Kudos once again to the Cookie Project conducted by Leona Smith, Sandy Thacker and the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church.
For Christmas, volunteers baked 365 dozen cookies and made 48 dozen chocolate-covered pretzels for inmates at the York County Prison.
The holidays can be such a sad and lonely time, especially for those separated from loved ones by metal bars. A few homemade treats baked by people who care can make a difference in someone's life.
What a fine and true way to celebrate the season of Christ's birth!
