Upscale consignment boutique opens Saturday >> Twice Upscale Resale Consignment Boutique, 1419 W. Market St., West York, will celebrate its grand opening March 1.
Owners Bobbi Buchmyer and Angelica Friend are sisters and business partners who plan to offer an elegant, upscale consignment boutique in the 1,300-square-foot location.
Twice is open 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.

Scrambled egg breakfast fundraiser >> September House Senior Center will hold a Scrambled Egg Breakfast Fundraiser from 7 to 10 a.m. March 8 at 1251 W. King St., West York. The cost is $4.25 or $6.50 with meat for adults and $2.10 or $3.25 with meat for children.

Night of poetry >> A night of poetry from the Bard of Avon, "Sonnets, Sweets and Shakespeare," will be March 22. Eight of William Shakespeare's most memorable sonnets will be performed, including one from the well-known play "Romeo and Juliet." This enchanting evening will begin with period music at 6:30 p.m. and will continue into sonnets, then songs from modern-day poets until 8 p.m. It will take place at the social hall in Calvary Lutheran Church, 9 N. Main St., Dover. The cost is $5 per person. The event will be hosted by OrangeMite Studios, a nonprofit community arts organization that has been serving the Dover Area since 2008.

Hypnosis show >> The Brian Eslick comedy hypnosis show is appearing at 7 p.m. March 22 at the Dover High School Auditorium, 46 W. Canal St., Dover. This performance benefits the Dover football team. Tickets cost $8. Come show your support and have a great time.

Ladies night out >> Head to the Bob Hoffman YMCA, 1705 Palomino Road, Dover Township, from 6 to 9 p.m. March 14, to shop and browse for a variety of unique items including jewelry, home products, clothing, handbags and more. The first 50 ladies to arrive (beginning at 5:45 p.m.) will receive a door prize. Bring an item to donate to New Life For Girls and fill out a door-prize drawing slip for each item you donate. Enjoy free chair massages, paraffin dips and mini-manicures. A free fitness class will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome, and there is no an admission fee.

Faith, family, food night >> New Creation Community Church, 3005 Emig Mill Road, Dover Township, holds Faith, Family, and Food Nights on Wednesdays during the school year. A kid-friendly dinner will be served at 6 p.m., followed by adult bible study, youth group for teenagers, and faith-building but fun adventures for kids. Nursery care is also available. A small donation for dinner is suggested if you can afford it. The Wednesday night ministry runs until May. Everyone from the community is welcome.

Bird club seeks members >> The York Area Pet Bird Club is accepting new members.
Membership is open to anyone who owns or has an interest in parrots or birds in general. Dues are pro-rated according to the month you join.
The club meets the third Tuesday of each month in the meeting room at Adams Electric Co-op., 200 Trinity Road, West Manchester Township.
Refreshments are available at the meetings. Because of meeting-room rules, birds are no longer permitted at the meetings.
