BLUEGRASS CONCERT SERIES >> The first concert in Countywide Producers' 2014 bluegrass music series is March 22 at the Airville Volunteer Fire Company, Route 74.

Doors open 6 p.m. for food sales and the concert by Shiloh Ridge begins 7 p.m.

Tickets at the door are $12 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12 years. Kids 5 and younger are admitted free.

Chanceford Twp.

VARIETY BINGO >> Clearview Elementary School variety bingo will be March 22 at Chanceford Community Building, 33 Muddy Creek Road, Chanceford Township. Doors open at 4 p.m. and games begin at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.

The snow date is March 23.

INCIDENT REPORT >> Chanceford Township's emergency responders recently released their monthly incident reports for December.

The New Bridgeville Memorial Fire Company answered 16 calls for the month while the Felton Fire Company had 62 calls. Brogue Area Ambulance had 52 calls.

The township's emergency responders also recently released a year-end report for 2013.

The New Bridgeville Memorial Fire Company and Felton Volunteer Fire Company responded to 196 and 172 calls, respectively. Brogue Area Ambulance had a total of 626 calls for the year.


BETHANY HOSTS FLEA MARKET AND BAKE SALE >> Bethany United Methodist Church will hold a flea market and bake sale 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 29 at the church, 41 High St.

The sale will feature Easter crafts and homemade baked goods.

North Hopewell Twp.

INCIDENT REPORT RELEASED >> The North Hopewell Township Police Department has released its monthly incident report for January.

In North Hopewell, officers answered 29 calls for service and issued 30 traffic citations, including 18 for speeding.

Windsor Twp.

HAZARDOUS WASTE REQUEST REJECTED >> Windsor Township officials are saying no to hazardous waste.

Modern Landfill recently proposed changing the terms of the township's host municipality agreement to allow for the collection of hazardous waste, provided the state Department of Environmental Protection permitted it.

The township supervisors rejected the request, saying they do not feel comfortable with allowing this type of waste to be disposed of in the landfill.

RESIDENTS MUST COMPLY WITH ORDINANCE >> More residents this year must comply with Windsor Township's On-Lot Disposal System ordinance.

The second phase of the four-year implementation process is in effect this year. Residents living in District 2 must upgrade their on-cite sewage systems to comply with the law, which is part of a state mandate.

Letters explaining the OLDS requirements were sent to District 2 residents in January.


FIRE COMPANY HOSTS BREAKFAST >> The North Hopewell-Winterstown Volunteer Fire Company will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast 7 to 11 a.m. March 23 at the fire hall, Route 24.

Cost is $8 for adults and $3 for 6- to 12- year olds. Children under 6 are free. The buffet-style meal features pancakes, French toast, eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, home fries, chipped beef and sausage gravy, biscuits, toast and beverages.

York Twp.

SCRAPBOOKING/CRAFTING EVENT >> A scrapbooking/crafting event will be 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. March 21 and March 22 at St. John's Blymire's United Church of Christ, 1009 Blymire Road, York Township.

Cost is $30 for one day or $50 for both days

Breakfast, lunch dinner, drinks and snacks will be available both days and are included in the price of registration.

CLASS OF 1964 REUNION >> The Dallastown High School Class of 1964 is celebrating their 50 year anniversary at the 50th reunion weekend celebration Oct. 10 to 12.
