SPRINGFIELD TWP.-- Get the buzz about bees thanks to Honey Bee Awareness Day, a series of programs being offered Aug. 20 at Nixon County Park.

Join Naturalist Amber Carothers at 9 a.m. for All About Bees, the natural his- tory of bees, their behavior and their importance.

The whole family can enjoy Family Bee Adventure at 10:30 a.m. This is an indoor and outdoor program cen-
tered around bees and their honey, and will include a story, a craft and a bee search. Cost is $5 per child and registration is required.

Honey tasting will begin at noon; sample a variety of honey from local beekeepers.

"Could I Be a Beekeeper" begins at 2 p.m. when Jeremy Barnes, president of the York County Bee Keepers Association, will introduce the hobby of bee keeping with an open hive demonstration. Registration is required for this
program.
