EASTERN YORK-- Ryan Beck and Sharayah Shue, both of Eastern York High School, are the recipients of the May Student of the Month award.

Ryan is the son of Julie and Joel Beck of Wrightsville. Ryan is enrolled in law for business, advanced placement physics, algebra III/trigonometry and academic English. Last semester, Ryan was enrolled in German I, Academic World History, Honors Physics and Transportation Systems.

Throughout his high school career, Ryan has participated in Eastern York High School Broadway Knights Musicals, chorus, band, National Honor Society and York County Honors Band. He also is a member of the Boy Scouts of America. Ryan received the Department Award in health and earned honor roll in ninth through 12th grades.

Ryan will major in chemistry at York College of Pennsylvania.

Sharayah is the daughter of Laura and Alan Shue of York. She is currently enrolled in academic English, academic physics, academic world history and senior art studio. Last semester Sharayah completed animal behavior, desktop publishing & web design, personal finance, and advanced art studio.

While at Eastern York High School, Sharayah has participated in cheerleading, where she served as captain, track and field, and is active with her church youth group. She has been on honor roll ninth through 12th grades.

Sharayah plans to attend Penn Foster College for a veterinary technician degree.
