DALLASTOWN- Caroline Bixler, a Dallastown grad, is a freshman with the University of South Carolina women's swim team.

In the recent three-day Virginia Tech Invitational, she finished 10th out of 55 swimmers in the 200 freestyle in 1:52.45.

She also finished 17th to capture the C Final in 200 butterfly with a career-best time of 2:06.41. And, she helped the 800 free relay finish fourth.

"Caroline has done an excellent job making an adjustment coming in as a freshman," Coach McGee Moody said. "The team here is so much more focused and so much more intense and classwork is harder so she has a lot of things to deal with.

"But she has done a great job and has already achieved lifetime bests midway through the season and we are excited about what we are going to be able to see from her in the future."

The Gamecocks return to the pool on Jan. 12 against Duke in Durham, N.C.
