A Lancaster man was killed when his motorcycle crashed head-on into a station wagon Monday night in Pequea Township.

Raymond Rosado Vazquez, 26, of 631 E. End Ave., was driving south in the 100 block of Marticville Road (Route 324), just north of New Danville Mennonite Church, Southern Regional police said.

Vazquez at 7:27 p.m. failed to navigate a right curve in the road and entered into the northbound lane, police said.

His 2004 Yamaha motorcycle struck a 2006 Dodge Magnum driven by a 41-year-old New Providence man head-on, police said. Police did not name that driver.

A fire official at the scene said the cyclist was pinned under the station wagon and was deceased when emergency crews arrived.

A representative of the Lancaster County Coroner's office pronounced Vazquez dead at the scene, police said.

Speed appears to be a factor in the crash, police said. Investigation of the wreck continues.

Marticville Road was closed from Long Lane to Stoney Lane for several hours after the crash.
