The public is invited to attend an upcoming meeting to provide input on a master site plan for the Susquehanna Heritage Park in eastern York County.

It will be held at 7 p.m. June 19 at the Lower Windsor Township municipal building, 2425 Craley Road.

The goal of the master site plan is to determine the best use for the county-owned Heritage Park, including the Highpoint Scenic Vista & Recreation Area and Native Lands County Park.

The study will include a look at whether, and how, the park land could or should function in conjunction with several other features of the area.

The other properties include:

--- The Zimmerman Center for Heritage, owned by the Susquehanna Gateway Heritage Area

--- Klines Run Park, owned by Safe Harbor Water Power Corp.

--- Wilton Meadows Nature Preserve, owned by the Lancaster County Conservancy

The meeting will include an introduction and review of the planning process, a discussion of consultant observations and an opportunity for attendees to share thoughts and ideas on the future of the park.

Pashek Associates, Landscape Architects and Community Planners of Pittsburgh are leading the master planning process in conjunction with team members from Albertin Vernon Architecture in Loganton, Pa. and Battaglia Jones Landscape Architects in Bellefonte, Pa.

The site plan is being funded in part by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
