Littlestown High School junior Kelsey Lowman was chosen Adams/Hanover Outstanding Young Woman Saturday at the 50th annual scholarship program sponsored by the Littlestown Lions Club at Littlestown High School.

Lowman will receive $2,600 in cash scholarships and will now represent the Hanover area in the Pennsylvania Outstanding Young Woman program Thanksgiving week in Reading.

Lowman, daughter of Richard and Michele Lowman, won first place in each of the competition's three judging categories.

Runner-up was Josie Quinn, a junior at South Western High School who won $1,200 in scholarships for her second-place finish. She is the daughter of Jim and Mickey Quinn.

Four other contestants -- Kayle DePalmer of New Oxford High School, Holly Little of Delone High School, Katie Boutin of Fairfield High School and Brittany Miller of South Western -- won $200 scholarships.

The $4,600 in scholarship awards brought the total awarded during the program's 50 years to more than $90,000.
