The Spring Grove Area School Board on Monday unanimously approved a 2012-13 budget with a 2.1 percent tax increase, according to a news release.

The budget calls for using nearly $3.9 million from the district's fund balance to close a deficit. The district's millage rate will increase to 20.0831. The tax increase means the owner of a home worth $100,000 would pay $41.31 more, according to the news release.

The 2012-12 budget reflects continued reductions in spending, according to the release. In the past two years, 31 positions have been eliminated. The budget will be posted at www.sgasd.org.
