WEST YORK-- Aislynn Merling, a West York grad, had a strong freshman season with the Youngstown women's golf team.

Merling finished 27th to help Youngstown place fifth in the recent Horizon Conference Tournament in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. She improved every day, shooting 91 and then dropping to 88 in the second round and 86 in the final round.

Merling finished tied for ninth (76-75-80--231) at the Richmond Invitational this spring and posted a 152 total at the Youngstown Invitational in the fall with a 79 and a college career-best 73.
