I want to recognize the work my husband, Tim Emig, U.S.M.C., did for the Vietnam Memorial. He was on the original organizing committee, worked fundraisers and gave Lorann Jacobs pictures taken from his tour of duty in Vietnam, so that the smallest details of the figures on the Memorial were correct. He also wrote the dedication, inscribed at the top of the memorial.

Thank you, Tim, for protecting me and all of the American people from 1969 to 1970.
