Gifts come in many different forms to the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Hanover and Spring Grove. A very special gift came to us earlier this month. The wife of one of our former VNA Hospice patients decided a year ago, after her husband died, that she wanted to do something in his honor.
The weekend of April 5, Mary Shorter hosted a basket bingo at Porters Fire Company. For months she collected baskets and got the word out. By the end of the day, Mary had raised more than $2,100.
The VNA would like to thank everyone who helped her make the event successful by donating baskets, playing bingo and caring about the VNA Hospice program. Once again, the generosity of this community is helping us to assist local families who need health care at home -- as we have done for 99 years.
