What are we doing to our beloved York County? Are we standing by while it is being divided up in parcels by profit-driven developers? Is this to be our legacy to our children?
In York Township, there is currently a proposal to shoehorn 439 residential units (including rentals) on the Heritage Hills Golf Course. Resident taxpayers must become more vocal if they oppose this traditional neighborhood development at this location.
Ore Valley Elementary School is at its maximum. Adding possibly 600 to 700 students in this area will necessitate additional schools and longer bus rides. Our future, the children, should be everyone's concern.
Putting 800 more cars onto Mount Rose, Springwood and Camp Betty Washington roads will create more of a traffic nightmare on already congested roads, prone to accidents. Everyone using these routes will be affected daily.
The TND could devalue real estate prices and change the landscape of current owners. This is a 10- to 15-year project with its attendant traffic, noise, dust, etc.
The developer requested 18 waivers from ordinances. Those present sat in stunned disbelief as the planning board approved 15 waivers, leaving some to wonder whose interests they were representing.
This TND cost all of York Township's already overburdened taxpayers more new schools, water, sewer lines, etc. will be paid for by you.
