Autism Support Meetings
Meetings are the third Monday of each month, September through May. Sessions include topics of interest to families dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Autism York South Monthly Meetings, new for 2012, was designed to accommodate our many families located in the Southern portion of York County. AYS will alternate between informal, chat type meetings and speaker format meetings. Anyone is welcome to attend.
Asperger Chat Nights welcome the families and friends of individuals with Asperger's Syndrome, High-Functioning Autism or PDD-NOS. This informal group explores numerous topics and allows interested parties to share with and learn from each other. They are held the 1st Thursday of each month.
Adult ASD Group meets the fourth Monday of each month. This group provides an opportunity for older teens and adults (18 and older) with an Autism Spectrum Disorder to meet for support, self-advocacy, networking, conversation, and fun. Each month we meet somewhere for dinner or for another fun social activity, such as mini golfing, bowling or snow tubing. Camp Mend A Heart
Held annually in June, this one day camp is designed to support grieving children who have experienced a death of a loved one within the last two years. The goal of the camp is to help children understand the death experience, learn about grief and have fun. Diabetes Support Groups

Gettysburg Diabetes Support Group meets 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second Monday of each month. Call Marsha Fiscel at 717-337-4189 for more information.

Spanish Diabetes Support Group

Epilepsy Support Group
This group meets 6 to 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month, alternating between York and Gettysburg locations. Epilepsy patients, family, friends and caregivers often have many questions and concerns about the disorder. Sometimes, it may be hard to ask the doctor questions or talk about problems with family or friends. The Epilepsy Support Group offers patients the opportunity to talk and gain encouragement from meeting with others who have the disorder.

Greater York Chapter of Mended Hearts
This is a local chapter of Mended Hearts, a national nonprofit organization affiliated with the American Heart Association. The group provides emotional support and positive outlook to patients through a visitation program, education and resources. Mended Hearts aims to inspire hope in patients and families who have heart disease.

Gastric Bypass Support Group
This support group meets 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the York County School of Technology, 2179 S.Queen St. The group is for those that have undergone gastric bypass surgery, for those that are considering it and for those that just want to know more. There is no fee to attend. Family is invited, as well.
Daytime Gastric Bypass Support Group
This support group meets 11 a.m. the third Thursday of each month at Apple Hill Medical Center, Suite 188 . The goal is to offer a support group meeting to those who prefer to attend during the day due to medical and/or work considerations. Family and support persons also are welcome to attend.
This support group meets 7 p.m. the third Thursday of the month at Clinical Weight Loss Program, 2339 South George St., lower level around the back. Its purpose is to help motivate post-gastric bypass surgery patients that are more than one year post-gastric bypass surgery.
Life and Breath Club

New motherhood and the pressures of daily life often bring about many challenges. Not only are you learning your new role as a parent, but you are also adjusting to your changing body, relationship with your partner, daily schedule and more. Mommy Talk is a monthly group designed to connect new moms with useful information in an environment that allows for social interaction and sharing. Each month, the group focuses on a topic geared toward new moms and allows time for open discussion. All new moms are welcome. Feel free to hold your baby in your arms if you don't have childcare.

Parkinson's Support Group
This groups meets 6 to 7:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month, March through November, at WellSpan Rehabilitation Hospital, Community Room 55 Monument Drive (Apple Hill Complex). WellSpan Neurology Caregivers Support Group
Caregivers support group (for chronic neurological problems such as Parkinson's disease, dementia, or MS, meets from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. the first Friday of each month, at the WellSpan Neurology Office conference room. 228 Saint Charles Way. Music therapy program
This meets at the same time and place as the caregivers support group. The patient attends music therapy while the caregiver attends the support group. The program is free, but please contact Cynthia Capresecco at 717-851-5822 to register.
Parkinson's speech therapy refresher program
This support group meets the first Monday of each month at Wellspan Neurology office, 228 St. Charles Way. Those involved in or have completed the Lee Silverman speech therapy program are invited to join and work at maintaining their speech skills. Parkinson's Tai Chi class

Parkinson's Exercise Class
This ongoing class meets 1 to 2 p.m. Mondays or Wednesdays at New Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1873 New Fairview Church Road York, Pa., 17403. Wear comfortable clothes. No experience necessary. For more information, call 717-851-5503.
Parkinson's advanced exercise class
This ongoing class is available to those are assessed and found to be ready for a greater challenge than the conventional class. To be evaluated and considered, please call Cynthia Capresecco at 717-851-5822. The fee is $3 per class and the class in run by a certified instructor.
Women's Relationship Loss Recovery Group
This group is for women who are experiencing depression and anxiety as the direct result of a divorce or break-up of a long-term relationship. The group meets 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays for eight consecutive weeks. A maximum of 10 women are accepted for each group. For more information, call WellSpan EAP at 717-851-6340.

York Area Transplant Support Group
