The South Eastern School Board Thursday adopted a 2012-13 budget that raises taxes and furloughs teachers.

The $47.8 million budget is based in part on a millage hike of 0.3545, which puts the district's total tax rate at 21.2055 mills. For taxpayers with property valued at $100,000, the increase means they will pay an additional $35 in real estate taxes to the district.

The board also eliminated 17 teaching positions because of declining enrollment.

This has been updated to reflect an incorrect millage rate.
