This year's Mason-Dixon Fair will include a 5K run and one-mile fun walk on the last day of the week-long fair.

Participants will get to run the fair's parade route at 4 p.m. July 14, just before the actual parade begins.

Entry fees for the 5K are $25 until June 30 and $30 from July 1to 7. For the walk, fees are $15 until June 15 and $20 thereafter.

Each runner will get a T-shirt, free admission to the fair, one ride ticket and a hamburger, fries and drink.

York countians can celebrate Father's Day with a special nature walk 2:30 to 4 p.m. June 17 at Richard M. Nixon County Park near Jacobus.

Dad and the kids will get to explore the park's woodland, streams, flora and fauna during the prettiest month of the summer. The park's Nature Center also is a great family experience, with so much to see and learn about, including a large mounted animal display.

Registration is not required, so just show up and enjoy.

Congratulations to Chad Short for earning the Eagle award, the highest honor in Boy Scouts.

A member of BSA Troop 809, Short received the award for renovating and landscaping a playground at Beakes Field in Peach Bottom Township.
Frisbees aren't just for flying, and flip flops aren't just for wearing. At the National Watch and Clock Museum, these items and others can be used for telling time.

The museum hosts make-and-take workshops 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Aug. 27. Participants can choose the clock they want to make for a fee of $6. Large groups should make reservations by calling 717-684-8261, ext. 237.

The museum is across the Susquehanna River in Columbia, Lancaster County.
