Effective Jan. 1, customers of Red Lion's public water system will see rates rise by about 10 percent.
For residential consumers living within the borough, the cost will be $4.27 for the first thousand gallons and $5.08 for each thousand gallons used thereafter. For those living outside the borough, the cost will be $5.12 for the first thousand gallons and $6.36 for each thousand gallons used thereafter.
Water delivered to the Dallastown-Yoe Authority and the Windsor Authority will be sold at a rate of $3.07 per thousand gallons. Each authority will determine the fee it charges to its own consumers.
Commercial and industrial customers using Red Lion water also will see a rate increase in 2013.
