SHREWSBURY-- Shrewsbury Borough reminds residents they are responsible to maintain sidewalks adjacent to their property.

Grass and weeds should be removed from curbing and sidewalks and around utility poles and traffic signs.

Grass clippings should not be discharged or swept into the streets where they can end up clogging storm drains, resulting in the cost to have the drains cleaned. Borough officials suggest you think green and use a mulching blade on your mower.

A borough ordinance calls for the mowing of grass, weeds and similar vegetation over the height of six inches.
