Supervisors in April approved a two year extension of the present contract with Penn Waste which includes a price increase in each of the two years of the contract.
Under the present contract residents are paying $216. The cost will go to $222 in the first year of the contract extension and $229 in year two.
The cost will increase as well for those customers who opt to buy special trash bags. That cost for bags will go from the present rate of $4.10 each to $4.20 per bag in the first year and $4.30 in the second year of the contract.
