SHREWSBURY TWP.-- Several bridges in Shrewsbury Township are closed, or scheduled to be closed, for repairs from damage caused by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.

--- Mount Airy Road at Windy Hill Road is closed for pipe replacement. The bog turtle study has been completed, but a permit has not been issued and the work may be delayed until September due to bog turtle protection regulations. According to PennDOT, the completion date of this project is unknown.

--- Plank Road, over I-83, remains closed for bridge replacement. PennDOT could not begin paving until after April 1. The anticipated completion date is late summer.

--- Fissel Church Road between Bortner and Ridge Roads is closed for bridge replacement. The project has been delayed waiting for Verizon to relocate utilities. The work was not expected to begin until May 1 at the earliest. The completion date, according to PennDOT, is expected to be 10 months after start date, weather permitting.

--- The township has scheduled the following bridge repairs because of storm damage: Baltimore Street, between Walker and Pleasant Valley Roads is closed for bridge repair. The township is awaiting DEP permits. The anticipated completion date is fall of 2013.

--- Sunny Slope Road, at the Codorus Township line, is closed for a bridge replacement. The project is awaiting DEP permits. The anticipated completion date is the spring of 2013.
