Cortni Rentzel dished out 46 assists for York College on Thursday as the Spartans' volleyball team pushed the top-seeded Salisbury Sea Gulls to five games before being eliminated from the CAC Tournament semifinals at Salisbury, Md.

Jaclyn Davis smacked 19 kills in her final collegiate match, and Alishia Waltermeyer added 15 for York, which took the first game and staved off defeat in the fourth before losing, 24-26, 25-23, 25-22, 19-25, 15-6.

The fourth-seeded Spartans also posted a strong defensive effort against the two-time defending tournament champions. Ashley Rineman saved a match-high 22 digs. Jana Arentz added 14 digs while Julie Coombs finished with 12, and Heather Bucher added 10.

Lindsey Saltzman had 30 assists, and Carley Todd added 21 for Salisbury, which won its 10th straight match while improving to 29-4 on the season. Rachel Downes had 14 kills and 11 digs. Lexy Fitzkee finished with 15 digs and 10 kills.

Salisbury will host Gallaudet, a five-game winner at Mary Washington, for the tournament title on Saturday. York finishes with an 18-14 record.
