The West York Area School District has purchased the Lincolnway Sports Center and land, according to business manager George Fike Jr.

Fike said the district settled June 29 on the property at 2601 W. Market St. Total cost is $300,000.

The school board authorized the purchase in June.

Supt. Emilie Lonardi has said the district has no immediate plans for the property currently being used for boxing. Rodney Drawbaugh, school board president, has said the district could use the property for things such as equipment and records storage or training classes.
