The Central Panthers earned another softball championship on Wednesday.

The Panthers downed Spring Grove 5-1 to capture the outright York-Adams League Division I championship.

Central (14-4 overall) finished the division season at 7-1, one game ahead of second-place South Western (6-2). It marks the third straight season that Central earned at least a share of the division crown. In 2006 and 2007, the Panthers shared the division championship with South Western.

In the victory over the Rockets, freshman pitcher Lauren Walker pitched a complete-game four-hitter. She struck out 12 with just three walks. Heather Wortman doubled for the winners.

For Spring Grove, Kayla Nell had three hits, including a double. Spring Grove dropped to 10-8 and 3-5 with the loss.
