MECHANICSBURG -- The World of Outlaws sanctioned Cleveland Brothers Spring Shootout for sprint cars scheduled for tonight has been postponed until Saturday night at Williams Grove Speedway.
Qualifying is slated to begin at 7:45.
An all-day rain forced Williams Grove and World of Outlaws officials to postpone tonight's event.
The announcement came at 3 p.m. with rain still falling and more in the forecast.
Saturday night's program will consist of time trials, qualifying races, a dash and a 30-lap A-Main which will pay the winner $12,000.
Forty-eight cars were in competition on Thursday night and comprised what was considered to be one of the strongest sprint fields assembled anywhere this season.
In addition to at least 20 Outlaws and the Williams Grove regulars, some surprises were in the field as well, such as Eunice, Louisiana's Jason Johnson as a running mate to Joey Saldana on a team owned by NASCAR star Kasey Kahne.
Twenty-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser scored his 38th career Williams Grove victory in the 25-lap feature which paid $8000 to win.
Defending Advance Auto Parts champion Donny Schatz came from 17th to finish second ahead of Saldana, Williams Grove regular Doug Esh and WoO rookie Lucas Wolfe.
Saturday night's event will be a points race for both the Cindy Rowe Auto Glass championship at Williams Grove and the World of Outlaws Advance Auto Parts championship.
