Spring Garden Township will not be one of the municipalities giving a bid on police services to West York Borough.

According to Spring Garden Township Police Chief George Swartz, "Spring Garden Township did receive a letter from West York Borough asking if there may be any interest from the Township in providing police coverage to the Borough."

"The request was submitted to the Spring Garden Township Board of Commissioners for discussion at their Feb. 13, 2013 board meeting. As the board did appreciate the opportunity presented by West York Borough to explore the possibility of providing police services to the residents of West York Borough, the Board of Commissioners elected to not submit a proposal to provide such services," Swartz said in an e-mail.
