DOVER— Freshman Tyler Wiley, a Dover High grad, has started and played in all 27 matches and 87 sets for the Wells College men’s volleyball team.

The 5-foot-9 libero leads the 8-19 Express with 154 digs. He also has 18 assists. This is just the second season for men’s volleyball at Wells, which is located in Aurora, N.Y.

“Tyler has been an excellent fit here at Wells,” Coach Richard Gary said. “He immediately solidified our serve-receive and has brought an athleticism and adaptability that we were lacking.

“He is a thinking player and is improving every day. As a young team, Tyler had a lot on his shoul ders when he arrived, but he worked hard, came in early to prac tice and kept a great composure throughout.”

The coach likes the attitude that Wiley has brought to the team.

“Tyler is confident but not cocky and he’s got the sharpest sense of humor on the team,” Gary said.

“We are still working to get him to unleash it a bit more because it puts the team at ease.”
